For the 3rd edition of BPM Book Festival, 2026, we have prepared one session of Portfolio Reviews, similar to those that occur during Belgrade Photo Month. There will be five reviewers and each one will work with six applicants (twenty minutes per candidate). The reviews will be of printed photographs. The Portfolio Review will take place from 10am on 24th April, 2026, in the city of Belgrade. Serbia.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

Applicants should read the information about the Curators/Reviewers here, to find out more about the individual curators for this year’s Portfolio Review, and choose the one that you feel would be most suitable for reviewing your portfolio. Participation is free.

WHAT TO SEND

One PDF which includes a short CV and portfolio of no more than eleven pages (images 72 dpi). The CV has to be written in English. You can submit your application to a maximum of three reviewers, but please send an individual email for each one.

The deadline for submission of applications is 17th April, 2026, at midnight CET. The accepted applicants will hear back from us confirming their participation 24 hours after application.

REVIEWERS

Alessandra Calò is an Italian visual artist. She creates images, situations and photographs to explore themes related to memory, identity and the relationship between humanity and nature. Her artistic practice is based on the reinterpretation of archival materials, often combined with the artisanal application of traditional photographic print process. Her work combines personal exploration with cross-disciplinary influences which – through various collaborations – lead to the creation of site-specific installations and artist’s books. Her works are held private and museum collections and are exhibited at international fairs, exhibitions and festivals.

Thomas Licek is the director of Eyes On and chairman of Reflektor, an international platform for self published photobooks. He has been organising Eyes On Month of Photography in Vienna for more than a decade and currently works as a curator and advisor on various international photography projects.

André Príncipe (Porto, 1976) studied Psychology at the University of Porto and graduated from the Lisbon Film School in 2001. He has been exhibiting his work regularly since 2004 in both solo and group exhibitions in institutions and galleries across Europe and Japan. Alongside his artistic practice, he is also co founder of the publishing house Pierre von Kleist, focusing on contemporary photography books.

Igor Mandić is an art photographer with more than three decades of experience. His work moves between black and white and colour, focusing on atmosphere, memory and the human condition. He has exhibited internationally and has long experience in education, teaching synthetic photography and leading workshops. His practice combines traditional photographic discipline with experimentation, bringing together narrative, philosophy and personal experience.

Branimir Karanović (Belgrade, 1950) is a photographer and graphic artist. He graduated from the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade in 1974 and completed his master degree at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade in 1976. He worked as a professor of photography at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad and later at the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade. His work includes both graphic art and photography, and he has played an important role in photographic education in Serbia.
